Alabama vs. Penn State 2010

What a game! Alabama looked great! Like a No. 1 Team Saturday!

The day started out by getting on the road around 11am. Traffic got really bad at the 20/59 I-459 interchange then again when the lanes went to 2 lanes near Tuscaloosa other than that pretty good.  I met my brother and his girlfriend at Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch then we made our way to the stadium where we visited some tail gates until about 5. My brother was able to get us access to the sidelines, before the game started, and i took many photo’s and short videos. When it was time to head home i took some back roads avoiding McFarland and sat in about 30mph traffic until we got 3 lanes, then it went fine until 459, then smooth sailing all the way home!

University of Alabama’s South End Zone Grand Opening

Due to new seats my brother is getting this year he was invited to the Grand Opening of the South End Zone and luckily I was able to tag along!

Most of the event was a crowd getting to self tour around the new in zone and the facilities inside.

I took some video but unfortunately we didn’t know where the speeches were being held so once we found a spot a pillar was in the way.
Here is a quick video of some of the speeches from Rece Davis, Nick Saban, and Mal Moore:

Here is a slideshow of the pictures I was able to take at the event:

Tour of The University of Alabama’s Athletic facilities 2010

This was my second time to enjoy this tour! They really have state of the art facilities!

The tour started with the Mal Moore building then over to the Bryant Denny Stadium then back.

We got to see the Hall of Champions, weight room, practice field, locker rooms at both places, the zone, new concessions, and the very top of the stadium.

Here are the photo’s from the trip:

Alabama’s 2009 National Championship Celebration

January 16, 2010 I headed to Tuscaloosa, AL to meet my brother.  We wanted to do a little shopping before we got in line at the stadium so we shopped around on the strip but most all the retailers had the same gear. I got the official locker room gear from Nike.

Once we were done shopping we stopped in at Buffalo Phil’s for lunch.

The stadium gates opened at 12pm.  We managed to get in line early enough to be in the first 3,002 fans. Those fans were lucky enough to get on the field to watch the ceremony.

Once in, we still had to wait about 2 hrs before they started. They played highlights from the championship game and various other clips while we waited.

The speakers ranged from Mal Moore, Nick Saban, UA’s president, various players and coaches. Nick’s speech was the best when he said “it’s only the beginning!!

Congratulations to the University of Alabama on their 13 National Title, I’m a proud Alumni (2001)!! Roll Tide Roll!!

UA vs USC 2009

Last Friday I won tickets to the UA vs USC game from work.

I hit the road about 3:15pm, later on i made it to light on 280 about to get on 459 when  the state troopers stopped all the traffic for 3 or 4 buses to get on the interstate. I’m not 100% sure but I think that was USC.
We were stuck behind them until we got on 20/59.. they took up all lanes of traffic.

I took exit 79 and came into Tuscaloosa about 4:15. Tried to meet up with my brother for the longest time. Cell phones were very unreliable even at this time before the game.

Managed to meet up with him at his fraternity house across from the stadium.

About an hour to kickoff we headed to our seats.

It was a very exciting game, unfortunatly UA didn’t play as well as i expected but they kept it together to the end. I don’t believe i have seen that many flags in a game before!

Alabama won 20 to 6! Roll Tide Roll!!

I grabbed some photo’s of the game hope you enjoy!
